In Poland, spices are used for specific purposes:

  • Extending the shelf life of products
  • Adding flavors
  • Enhancing aroma

Spices are added to all dishes here, but there aren’t as many as in Italian cuisine. Instead, spices like pepper and salt are commonly used.

Comparing these two types of cuisines, one can conclude that Italians use more spices that originate from their region. In Poland, however, spices imported from other countries are used.
