RAILWAY TRANSPORT

 

The building of the Rzeszów Główny railway station is located on the Dworcowy Square in the northern district of Śródmieście. It was built in 1858

Platform 1 is directly adjacent to the building, covered with a veranda that leads westwards to an underpass connecting all three platforms. The largest railway junction in the Podkarpackie Province and one of the most important in south-eastern Poland is Rzeszów. This interchange consists of 2 stations: Rzeszów Główny, Rzeszów Staroniwa, as well as stops; Rzeszów Miłocin, Rzeszów Housing estate. Railway border crossings with Ukraine:

Krościenko – Chyrów
Przemyśl – Mościska
Werchrata – Rawa Ruska

AIR TRANSPORT

 

One of the most important airports in Podkarpacie is located in the village of Jasionka, approx. 14 km from the center of Rzeszów. It is an international airport. The A4 motorway as well as the S19 expressway and the national road No. 9 run nearby. The airport’s advantage is a huge parking lot. The airport is located on the provincial road No. 869 connecting the national road No. 9 (Rudna Mała) with the S19 expressway (Jasionka). Jasionka is advantageously situated in terms of geography and terrain. One of the eight meteorological radars of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management in Poland is located at the airport. The area of ​​this airport covers over 650 ha, the port has the second longest runway in Poland. It is 3200 meters long.

One of the next airports in Podkarpacie is the airport in Mielec, located in the northern part of the city, it was established in 1938. There is an additional border crossing for passenger traffic on this facility, which is run by the Border Guard Post of Rzeszów Jasionka Airport and the Mielec Customs Post.

BUS TRANSPORT

 

City buses run between the city and the airport. There are as many as 112 bus carriers in the Podkarpacie region.

Transport in Greece

RAILWAY TRANSPORT

 

The history of rail transport in Greece dates back to 1869 with the completion of the then Athens-Piraeus railway. Operation of the Greek rail network is shared between the Hellenic Railway Organization, which owns and maintains the infrastructure, and TrainOSE and other private companies that operate the trains on the network.

One of the main railways is the Piła Railway, which connects the city of Volos with the village of Milies.

The airports are mainly used by tourists coming to the country. The national airline of Greece is Olympic Airlines, whose main carrier is Greece Air Lines, with its main base in Athens. The second major national airline is Aegean Airlines. Its offices are located in Athens and serve connections from that city to other major cities in the country.

BUS TRANSPORT

 

Bus, the most popular means of public transport in Greece. Most of the buses here belong to KTEL – the transport network that covers most routes from the larger towns to Athens.
